Alex Jones, 45, looked incredibly chic on Tuesday as she stepped out wearing a midnight blue velvet suit to present The One Show and attend the star-studded TRIC Christmas Lunch. The fashionable presenter paired the festive look with some silver boots and gold bow-shaped earrings.

Despite the glamorous exterior, Alex realised she had suffered a comical wardrobe blunder when she got home.

Filming herself from her dressing room, Alex told her 339,000 Instagram followers: “Just done The One Show and I’ve realised that I’ve done the whole show but not only that, a whole awards ceremony as well, with my trousers back to front.”

Alex chuckled as she lifted up her blazer to show fans that the pockets on her trousers were on the back instead of the front.

Nevertheless, many of her followers took to her page to gush over how fabulous she looked.

ITV weather presenter Lucy Versamy wrote: “Love this midnight velvet suit!”

While a fan named Lorraine exclaimed: “Looking FABULOUS!”

And Cheryl shared five applause emojis and told Alex she “looked stunning”.

Plenty of famous faces attended the TRIC Christmas Lunch, including Susanna Reid, Charlotte Hawkins and Lizzie Cundy.

Good Morning Britain’s Charlotte Hawkins, 47, oozed glamour in a dark red asymmetric dress.

The velvet ensemble glistened with sequins and metallic embroidery and the wrap detail showed off Charlotte’s fabulous figure.

Her colleague Susanna Reid, 51, also opted for red velvet and wore a flattering festive tea dress.

The long-sleeved midi was cinched in at the waist to highlight her curves.

She paired the look with gold jewellery and some leopard print court heels.

TalkTV star Lizzie Cundy, 54, stood out from the crowd in a Barbie inspired mini dress complete with feathers and a pale pink fur coat.

Lizzie showed off her incredibly toned legs in the hot pink number which she elevated with matching heels.

The event drew in stars from TV, radio and online media to support good causes through its annual events, corporate partners and the sponsorship opportunities.

Alex Jones has held the role as president of TRIC for the past year.

Taking to Instagram following the ceremony, Alex confirmed that Rob Rinder will be taking on the role going forward.

She wrote: “Thanks @tricawardsuk for having me as your president over this last year. It has been an honour and I know that the brilliant @robrinder will be a fantastic successor.

“Today’s Christmas lunch was EPIC…Over and Out Tric.”
