Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke, 54, turned judge last year when Motsi Mabuse, 40, couldn’t make it the studio for two episodes last year due to having to self-isolate. The dancer gave his critique to his fellow co-stars following his celebrity partner Jacqui Smith’s exit.
While he enjoyed his temporary role on the panel, the dancer admitted he didn’t like how short his feedback had to be.
The father-of-two explained: “The worst part is you don’t have very long to get your point across, and anyone who has met me knows that short and succinct isn’t really my game.
“Why let a short answer get in the way of a rambling long monologue? For me, that’s a nightmare.
“‘Shorter, shorter’ they kept telling me! I was going, ‘Honestly, I’ve barely said hello’.”
Despite this, Anton said added he “loved every second of it” in an interview with The Mirror.
Fans of the show at the time praised the dancer for his role and called for him to be a permanent judge.
The dancer had previously been a name in the mix to replace former judge Len Goodman, but was turned down.
The latter quit the show in 2016 and was later replaced by current head judge Shirley Ballas.
Strictly’s current line-up consists of Shirley, Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and Motsi.
Anton has been a part of the professional line-up since the show’s inception in 2004.
In 2019, he became close to winning the Glitterball trophy with his celebrity partner Emma Barton.
The dancing duo made it to the final of the show, but missed out on the win to Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse.

Anton said he always has an incline about who is going to be his dance partner before it’s revealed.
The dancer has a history of being paired with older contestants such as Susannah Constantine and Ann Widdecombe.
He told the Daily Mail online: “You look at a line-up of lady celebrities and you pretty much know who I’m going to get.
“I mean, the 25-year-old lingerie model is probably not going to come my way.
“She’ll probably be swerving over to Giovanni or Aljaz or somebody like that.”
He added: “The 25-year-old lingerie model’s mum…now you’re talking.”
The dancer will return to the show later this year.
Catch Anton on The Chase Celebrity special this evening at 5.30pm on ITV.
