Anu Malik’s probable return to Indian Idol creates ruckus on social media, Sona Mohapatra slams the makers! | Bollywood Life

BollywoodLife was the first one to report about composer Anu Malik’s probable return to judge the singing reality show Indian Idol season 11. The music composer was asked to leave the last season mid-way due to his name being involved in the then going #MeToo movement. With season 11 being underway, rumours were rife that makers have already approached him however, talks are still going on with him. The reports have clearly not gone down well amongst social media. Many have started accusing the makers of foul play. The one leading the bandwagon is singer Sona Mohapatra. The Bedardi Raja singer has slammed the makers for bringing back Malik on the show.

In a series of tweets, Sona thrashed the composer and the channel. One of her tweets read, “New York-based Danica D’Souza said that Anu Malik’s predatory behaviour was commonplace during Indian Idol shoots and ‘higher-ups’ were aware of it but chose to turn a blind eye. (As per reports, this pervert has been re-instated by @sonytv ?)”

In another tweet, she wrote, “Because women & their pain don’t matter? @IndiaMeToo . @SonyTV ,Not one but many many women publicly shared their stories of being sexually harassed by this man.Ranged from teenagers barely 15 years old to much older women. His predatory ways are an open secret in the industry”

“Anu Malik unzipped his pants, sexually harassed me: Two more women reveal their @IndiaMeToo stories” This is the pervert @sonymusic & #IndianIdol want back around young girls & boys?,” one of her tweets read.

When BollywoodLife contacted Anu, the composer maintained a “no comments” stance. Well, now it’ll be interesting to see that after receiving so much of flak will the makers still retain Malik as the judge? Malik has been on the jury panel of the series since its first season.
