ASK AJIT: Buy, Sell or Hold?

Ajit Mishra, vice president, Research, Religare Broking, answers your queries:

Ramasamy Nagarajan: Kindly advise whether to hold or exit.

Rohith Adiga: I am a starter in the stock market and have been trading since the last 10 months.

I have listed the stocks I have purchased. Advise me as to whether I should buy additional stock, hold or sell.

I am also looking for a short term plan of 6-10 months. Please suggest from either my existing stocks or new stocks for short term gain. I am planning to invest Rs 1-2 lakhs.

Also, I would like to know when to purchase the additional stock — when it’s growing or when there is a dip.

For example, I purchased 50 shares of Tata Motors @ Rs 124, then added another 25 when it went to @ Rs 185 and again purchased 10 @ Rs 290. Now my average pricing is @ Rs 244.

Ajit Mishra:

You can also invest in ICICI Bank, SBI, Britannia, M&M, Kansai Nerolac, Nam-India, Maruti and Coromandel International for the long term, on dips.

Ajit Mishra:

Nirav Asher: I want to buy the following stocks for long term — 3-5 years. Shall I invest in these stocks?

Ajit Mishra:

Challa Venugopala Reddy: I have purchased 2,700 shares of Kiri Industries at Rs 560 and 6,500 shares of Olectra Green Tech at Rs 200. Kindly advise if I should hold or exit.
