Beth Tweddle gives birth to baby girl and reveals pretty name

Beth Tweddle has given birth to a baby girl and revealed her adorable name.

"Exciting news! Andy and I are delighted to welcome and introduce Freya Allen to the world," the Olympic champion announced on Instagram today.

"Born 16th May, both her and I are doing well. What an unbelievable feeling and we're looking forward to the amazing journey ahead x"

Their happy news comes after a gruelling two years of recovery after Beth seriously injured herself on Channel 4's The Jump.

In 2016 she was left unable to walk or shower after smashing into barriers during her ski training, forcing her to relearn how to dress after breaking two vertebrae in her neck.

But the athlete said her wedding day last year was the start of a new chapter, although she still wasn't fully recovered from her ordeal.

"There are still moments where I’ll do something and it hits home that it happened. I’m not 100 per cent better yet, physically or mentally," she said in the summer.

"It’s like we’re opening up a new book. We’re excited about the future and have loads to look forward to," she said.

"We’re ambitious, love to travel and we’re still bedding into our new house… and we’d love a family so who knows. Watch this space!"

Beth and Andy married in a lavish ceremony in June this year, surrounded by family and friends at the Grade I listed Dorfold Hall in Nantwich.

Beth and her finance director beau – who got engaged during the 2016 Rio Olympics – said 'I do' at St Boniface Church near her home in Bunbury before the reception at Dorfold Hall.

The One Show's Matt Baker was on the guest list along with her former Dancing On Ice partner Daniel Whiston, who let his services as master of ceremonies.
