Cuba Gooding Jr. meets with sex-crimes cops after groping allegations

Cuba Gooding Jr. met with NYPD sex-crimes detectives on Thursday to face an allegation that he drunkenly groped a clubgoer at a rooftop bar in Midtown.

The “Jerry Maguire” Oscar winner stepped out of a dark-colored SUV in front of Manhattan’s Special Victims Division base on East 123rd Street just after 2 p.m.

Decked out in a dark suit, Gooding said nothing as he walked into the cop shop, but smiled and waved to a throng of media awaiting his arrival.

Gooding’s sitdown with cops comes as his attorney, Mark J. Heller, insisted that video of the actor’s Sunday night jaunt to the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge in Midtown shows he did nothing wrong.

“An extensive review of the available video taken that evening reveals that there was absolutely no criminal conduct and inappropriate conduct on the part of Cuba Gooding Jr., and it completely exonerates him from any criminal conduct,” said the high-profile lawyer on Thursday.

Gooding, however, is set to be formally arrested for forcible touching, and Manhattan prosecutors will decide what charges to bring at the actor’s arraignment, expected late Thursday.

The Bronx-born actor, 51, allegedly grabbed the breast of a 30-year-old patron as she passed him a glass of water to help him sober up after a night of partying at the Seventh Avenue bar, cops and police sources have said.

The alleged victim filed a claim with the NYPD early Monday, but by that point, Gooding had already returned home to California.

Gooding maintained his innocence to TMZ late Tuesday as he prepared to return to New York to face the claim.

Meanwhile Thursday, a second woman came forward to cops to accuse Gooding of groping.

But because that purported run-in at a Manhattan restaurant took place more than a decade ago — well outside the two-year statute of limitations for forcible touching — Gooding likely won’t be prosecuted for that alleged crime, sources said.
