David and Victoria Beckham have led the stars in the latest Clap For Carers to mark the 72nd birthday of the NHS.

The power couple were joined by all four of their children on Sunday night to commemorate the landmark anniversary.

In a video uploaded to Instagram, David knelt on the ground as Brooklyn, Harper, Romeo, Cruz and Victoria huddled around him.

Other famous faces to mark the occasion included Myleene Klass and Rita Ora.

Myleene, 42, shared a video to her story as she stepped out on her doorstep with ten-month-old Apollo in her arms alongside a caption that read: ‘Happy Birthday NHS.’

Rita also marked the 72nd birthday of the NHS with a heartfelt tribute to mum Vera who has been working as a nurse amid the coronavirus crisis.

The singer, 29, took to Instagram on Sunday with a snap of her 56-year-old mum ahead of the latest Clap For Carers celebration.  

She uploaded the photo alongside a caption that read: ‘Happy 72nd birthday to the @nhswebsite!!‬

‘‪Thank you to all NHS workers for your incredible service during Covid-19 and beyond. I’ll be joining at 5pm to celebrate all NHS workers past and present so proud of you mum!!! @veraora.’

Dozens of households up and down the country joined the latest Clap For Carers including Boris Johnson and Keir Starmer. 

Speaking ahead of the tribute, the Prince of Wales said he hoped the event would become an annual tradition.

He said: ‘The current pandemic means that the NHS – and the entire country – has been through the most testing time in the service’s history.

‘Our remarkably selfless nurses, doctors, paramedics and countless other staff have made costly sacrifices to provide treatment for more than a hundred thousand patients with coronavirus and thousands more who needed other care.

‘And, in tribute to them, we have come together as a nation to thank them for their skill, professionalism and dedication.’
