De De Pyaar De box office collection day 5: Ajay Devgn’s romantic comedy crossed Rs 50 crore | Bollywood Life

Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet and Tabu starrer De De Pyaar De is trending well at the box office. The comic caper opened with Rs 10.41 crore and at the end of five days, the film has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the figures and wrote, “#DeDePyaarDe crosses ₹ 50 cr on Day 5… Trends strongly on weekdays… Fri 10.41 cr [incl Thu previews], Sat 13.39 cr, Sun 14.74 cr, Mon 6.19 cr, Tue 6.10 cr. Total: ₹ 50.83 cr. India biz. #DDPD”

De De Pyaar De is backed by Luv Ranjan, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Ankur Garg and marked the directorial debut of film editor Akiv Ali. Our critic, Urmimala Banerjee reviewed De De Pyaar De and wrote, “Performance-wise, Tabu steals the show. She is the only character whom you connect with emotionally. From a no-nonsense smooth-talking owner of a resort to shedding buckets as the tired single parent, she strikes a chord. Rakul Preet looking gorgeous and has some good lines but does not connect. Ajay Devgn has his swag on point and delivers his lines with a wry sense of humour. Jimmy Shergill as Tabu’s admirer is a hoot. The songs are peppy and shot nicely.”

Buzz suggests that a sequel to De De Pyaar De is on the cards. However, Ajay Devgn ruled out the possibility and told PinkVilla in an interview, “If it (DDPD) works (at the box office), there will be a sequel. There’s an ending which lends the possibility to come up with one.”

Ajay Devgn will next be seen in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. It is scheduled to release on January 10, 2020, and will clash with Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey starrer Chhapaak. The Meghna Gulzar directorial is based on the life of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal.
