De De Pyaar De box office day 4: Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Rakul Preet starrer packs a solid Rs 6 crore on Monday | Bollywood Life

Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Rakul Preet starrer De De Pyaar De is making big conquests at the box office. The romantic comedy emerged with flying colours on Monday, adding a solid Rs 6 crore to its total. De De Pyaar De has been doing well in multiplexes in major cities. Sharing the box office numbers of the film, trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared, “#DeDePyaarDe puts up a strong total on Mon… Plexes [Mumbai, Delhi-NCR] are driving the biz… Needs to maintain the pace on weekdays to cover lost ground… Fri 10.41 cr [incl Thu previews], Sat 13.39 cr, Sun 14.74 cr, Mon 6.19 cr. Total: ₹ 44.73 cr. India biz. #DDPD”

De De Pyaar De is backed by Luv Ranjan, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Ankur Garg and marked the directorial debut of film editor Akiv Ali. Our critic, Urmimala Banerjee reviewed De De Pyaar De and wrote, “Performance-wise, Tabu steals the show. She is the only character whom you connect with emotionally. From a no-nonsense smooth-talking owner of a resort to shedding buckets as the tired single parent, she strikes a chord. Rakul Preet looking gorgeous and has some good lines but does not connect. Ajay Devgn has his swag on point and delivers his lines with a wry sense of humour. Jimmy Shergill as Tabu’s admirer is a hoot. The songs are peppy and shot nicely.”

Buzz suggests that a sequel to De De Pyaar De is on the cards. However, Ajay Devgn ruled out the possibility and told PinkVilla in an interview, “If it (DDPD) works (at the box office), there will be a sequel. There’s an ending which lends the possibility to come up with one.” Well, we hope the makers take into consideration the good response from critics and audience and think of a franchise altogether.

Ajay Devgn will next be seen in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. It is scheduled to release on January 10, 2020, thereby locking horns with Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey starrer Chhapaak. The Meghna Gulzar directorial is based on the life of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal.
