Eva Longoria Spills ‘Desperate Housewives’ Tea In Her Letter Of Support To Felicity Huffman Amid A

Eva Longoria wants the federal court to know a few things about her “good friend,” Felicity Huffman!

As we reported, the actress is set to be sentenced by a federal judge next week in the college admissions scandal, months after she pled guilty to mail fraud after paying $15,000 to increase her daughter’s SAT score.

As federal prosecutors are recommending the Otherhood star be sentenced to at least one month in prison, some of Huffman’s old colleagues have submitted letters of support in hopes of helping her land an even lighter sentence.

And while Longoria’s letter might not help Huffman’s case, it spilled some major tea from their days on Desperate Housewives together!

In her letter to the court, the Mexican-American actress painted her former costar as a hero who not only donated to charity but protected her from a bully on set of the beloved ABC satire. Although Longoria didn’t name this bully, it’s not hard to guess who it was, given the reported problems between the cast from back in the day.

Longoria started her letter by describing Huffman as her “good friend” who immediately made her feel at ease on her first day on Desperate Housewives in 2004 when she was first breaking into Hollywood.

She recalled how Huffman saw her at the first table read “alone, scared, and unsure of where to go and what to do,” and offered support. As the show went on, Longoria said Huffman continued to support her when she was “bullied at work by a co-worker,” writing:

“I dreaded the days I had to go to work with that person because it was pure torture.”

As fans might guess, this “co-worker” could very well be Teri Hatcher. During its eight-season run on ABC, rumors of a feud between Hatcher and the rest of the actors refused to die down.

Longoria remembered the bullying from this co-worker only stopped when Huffman confronted Hatch– er… the co-worker and said, “enough.” She wrote:

“Felicity could feel that I was riddled with anxiety even though I never complained or mentioned the abuse to anyone.”

Hmmm… we’re not sure what the judge will do with this tea. But we’re certainly not mad she’s spilling it!

Weirdly enough, Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry also blasted this “problematic cast member” in his letter to the judge, noting she was “a big star with some big behavioral problems.”

Cherry said during the seventh season, the unnamed actor decided to no longer speak to her castmates and only with the show’s directors — which he saw as “alternately maddening and hilarious” — but claimed Huffman continued to greet the star every morning, “even though she knew she wouldn’t get a response.”

He recalled Huffman telling him at the time:

“Just because that woman’s determined to be rude, doesn’t mean she can keep me from being polite.”

Does that sound like someone who should do hard jail time, your honor!?

In Longoria’s letter, she claimed Huffman also fought for the cast to negotiate their salaries as a unit so Longoria could be paid closer to what the rest of them were making. She remembered:

“That did not go over too well with the others. But Felicity stood up for me, saying it was fair because the success of the show depended on all of us, not one of us. The fight lasted weeks, but Felicity held strong and convinced everyone this was the right thing to do.”

Huffman was also the only one concerned with helping Longoria’s charities, according to the actress. She added:

“ were all usually too busy to help, except Felicity. I can’t tell you how many times she was the only one who would physically show up to help me with kids with cancer, or children with special needs.”

Huffman’s husband William H. Macy sent the judge a letter of his own, revealing the 56-year-old hasn’t been able to work since her arrest by the FBI earlier this year. He wrote:

“It’s not clear when or how Felicity will resume her acting career. Since her arrest, she’s received no job offers or auditions… She still doesn’t like to sleep alone and has nightmares from the FBI agents waking her that morning with guns drawn.”

As for Huffman, she said in her own letter to the judge she had been trying to help their oldest daughter, Sophia, who has learning disabilities, by participating in the scheme.

The mother-of-two admitted she acted out of “desperation to be a good mother,” and said she now understands the “irony” that she ended up hurting her daughter — who Huffman said asked her tearfully:

“Why didn’t you believe in me? Why didn’t you think I could do it on my own?”

Huffman repeated several times there was “no justification” for her actions, adding:

“I unequivocally take complete responsibility for my actions and will respectfully accept whatever punishment the court deems appropriate.”

While Felicity will more likely than not be sentenced to some prison time, at least her future looks brighter than fellow accused briber, Lori Loughlin’s!

Do U think these letters will make any difference in the court’s decision?
