Grammy-Nominated Songwriter And Producer Busbee Dead At 43

Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Busbee has died. Busbee, whose real name was Michael James Ryan, was 43.

Busbee is survived by a wife and three children, according to People. Reports say that he had been diagnosed with a rare brain cancer called glioblastoma a few months ago.

“Our hearts are broken by the loss of our friend busbee,” music publishing company Warner Chappell Music said. “His generosity, spirituality and humor inspired everyone around him. An amazingly gifted songwriter, he used his talent, music and love to break down boundaries and bring people together. We love you.”

In his career, Busbee worked along with several A-list artists, including Christina Aguilera, Pink, Gwen Stefani, Lauren Alaina, Gavin DeGraw, Lady Antebellum, Adam Lambert, Rascal Flatts and Shakira.

Busbee has received a nomination at 53rd Annual CMA Awards, as a producer for Maren MorrisGIRL, which is up for Album of the Year.

“This just doesn’t seem fair. I will always love you and the songs and albums I was lucky to make with you, Busbee. Rest well, my sweet friend.” Morris tweeted following his death.
