How Masoom Made Waves at Cannes

When Masoom Minawala walked the red carpet at Cannes, she chose a custom-made pearl white chiffon sari by Designer Manish Malhotra.

Pairing the look with a matching textured blouse with silver sequins and exaggerated sleeves that fell over her shoulders like a cape, the fashion blogger made a stunning entry in this shimmering silhouette.

Opting for subtle make up, Masoom completed the look with gorgeous studs.

Talking about her special Cannes red carpet moment, she wrote: ‘For me walking the red carpet has little to do with the fame and glamour quotient of it. I know it might be hard to believe, but it’s painstakingly true.

‘For me, it’s a celebration of my work — of the strength, persistence — and to some level knowing that I’m one step closer to my mission of taking Indian fashion to the world.

‘To have the honour to be at the world’s largest cinematic event, wearing India, being India, celebrating India.

‘And what better than our iconic silhouette, the sari, to be my companion in this wonderful journey.’

‘When you represent India on the red carpet, you’ve got to wear India. So my outfit naturally had to be the work of Manish Malhotra.’

Manish shared Masoom’s Cannes red carpet pic on Instagram and wrote: ‘Masoom radiating royalty and painting the red carpet with my favourite symbol of elegance.’

For the opening night, Masoom chose an orange cream Lia Stublla gown featuring an off-the-shoulder and a daring thigh-slit.

The pleated gown had an asymmetrical bodice and she completed the look with shoes by Prada.

According to Masoom, ‘Even meetings call for couture when you’re at Cannes.’

Masoom looked gorgeous as she stepped out in a halter-neck dress with a tulle bodice and a ruffled shirt.

Don’t miss her clutch with a strap made of pearls. Pretty fancy, isn’t it?

Dressed in a Maison Valentino fuchsia one-shoulder flowy gown, Masoom looks pretty in pink.

‘Now here is a dream I have definitely dreamed before. Creating content in Maison Valentino.’
