A huge pop star’s TV show has been shelved by Prime Video bosses after just one series.
James Blunt’s Beer Masters challenged five teams of home brewers to create their own ale inspired by the iconic beers of Europe.
The show was the he You’re Beautiful singer’s first venture into TV presenting and saw him work alongside beer expert Jaega Wise.
It features head brewers from Camden Town Brewery and Stella Artois, as well as celebrity judges such as Daisy Lowe.
The best beer was then stocked in James’s pub, The Fox And Pheasant in West London, which he bought in 2017.

However, despite its success and popularity with fans, a second series has not been commissioned.
A source told The Sun: ‘Beer Masters had all the ingredients to become a long-runner for Prime Video and it went down well with punters.
‘But sometimes these limited series don’t suit ongoing commercial strategies, it’s not just about ratings.’
Across five episodes, pressure built as the teams brewed different styles of beer, while learning the processes, history and culture behind top European brands.
The teams were also set a ‘serve challenge’ in each episode, from designing their own beer label to developing accompanying dishes.
Each week, a beer was awarded gold and a place in the final and the overall winners saw their beer launched and sold commercially.
‘I really thought I’d died and gone to heaven,’ James said of the new venture at the time.
‘This is my dream job, even if my technical knowledge is limited to a bit of home brewing as a student and my knowledge of beers is limited to drinking them. I’ve certainly had a fair amount of experience.
‘I’ve spent 17 years on a tour bus which is basically a mobile bar that never runs out of beer. And soldiers have a pretty good reputation for drinking, too.’
James shot to fame in 2005 when his first single You’re Beautiful spent five weeks at number one.
