Former Strictly Come Dancing professional James Jordan, 44, regularly shares his honest opinion about the show’s dancing duos on social media. While many of his tweets are about the dancing, the father-of-one backed the show’s designer Vicky Gill after outfits were criticised online today.
Twitter user YoursChloex slammed the way Jayde Adams and Karen Hauer were dressed on Saturday.
She wrote: “Dear @strictly wardrobe, can we not start a pattern with Jayde & Karen’s costumes where they are dressed differently based on size.
“It would have been easy to find a costume which suits both body types.
“Jayde completely covered up & Karen the opposite was not needed #strictly.”
The show’s costume designer replied revealing that contestants have their say on what to wear.
She typed: “Much better to find a costume which makes each person feel good.
“Everything is possible and these ladies are strong independant wonderful women, they choose.”
In response, James said: “Well said!!! You are the best in the business – FACT.”
Vicky has been responsible for the costumes on the show since 2012.
She’s also worked on shows such as Dancing on Ice and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
James left the show as a dancer after seven years in 2013.
His wife Ola Jordan was also a part of the professional line-up for nine years up until 2015.

On Saturday, the dancer faced backlash when he urged paralympian Ellie Simmonds to “straighten her legs”.
The swimmer performed a Cha Cha Cha with her partner Nikita Kuzmin on the dance floor for the first time.
Sharing his thoughts, James began by saying he “b****y loved” the routine and praised the pro for his efforts.
He went on to say: “She needs to try and consciously straighten her legs as much as possible. Loved the tricks. BUT she needs to believe in herself now.”
Many were quick to point out that making her legs any straighter might not be possible, due to her dwarfism.
Jenros2 wrote: “People with dwarfism generally have bow legs.”
@FlopsyPickle told him: “She won’t be able to straighten them any more than she is, due to her dwarfism, as it tends to cause bowing of the legs.
“There are a couple of hundred conditions that fall under the dwarfism umbrella. The majority cause bowing of the legs.”
Dawnie2305 chimed in: “Unfortunately she won’t be able to straighten her legs anymore than she already has, it is part of dwarfism.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.
