Joey Essex left an ’emotional wreck’ after Essex mansion break-in and now ‘moving to Dubai’

Joey Essex has reportedly been left in an "emotional wreck" after a break-in at his Essex mansion.

The 32 year old TOWIE star, who is now dating professional skater Vanessa Bauer, 26, is said to be looking for a new property to buy in Dubai as a result.

Joey was reportedly left "horrified and shaken" when he discovered that thieves had broken in to his home in the countryside in January.

The thieves then ransacked his personal belongings and the property was in a state of complete disarray.

According to reports, the reality TV star has said he is looking forward to feeling "safe" elsewhere, and is hopeful moving abroad will help him regain his privacy.

If he finds a new home in the United Arab Emirates, Joey will then seek to divide his time equally between there and Essex.

OK! has contacted a representative for Joey for comment.

The star, who came runner-up to Nile Wilson in the finale of Dancing On Ice last month, was only recently confirmed to be in a relationship with his pro ice partner Vanessa after the couple hit it off during training.

And while he focused on getting to the final and making his late mum and the rest of his family proud on the show, Joey was dealing with the horror of a home intrusion at the same time.

"Joey has started house-hunting in Dubai. He is planning to buy a base out there so he can jet off whenever he likes," a source told The Sun.

"Joey will be splitting his time between his home in Essex and his new place in Dubai."

The insider went on to claim that the UAE is the perfect location for the TV favourite.

"He loves the lifestyle out there and feels completely safe," they added.

During the break-in, Joey had a mustard coloured Louis Vuitton weekend bag worth £2,500 stolen, and a Fendi rucksack worth about £4,500.

The thieves also stole Joey's £1,900 grey Maison Goyard cross-body bag, and a number of other valuable fashion items.

At the time, friends said Joey was "terrified and shaken" and an "emotional wreck" after the incident.

The star bought the property eight years ago when he was just 24, and has worked on turning it into the ultimate bachelor pad ever since.

During lockdown, Joey even took fans on a tour of his mansion home during an appearance on This Morning, and revealed he'd created a beach house, a "posh room", and installed a hot tub in his garden.
