John Legend ‘can’t wait to welcome new baby into the world’ with wife Chrissy Teigen

Singer John Legend appeared on ITV Good Morning Britain to discuss the happy news of the announcement he is expecting his fourth child with wife Chrissy Teigen – and couldn't resist mentioning his relationship with Kanye West too.

Appearing on Friday's show, John said: "Whenever you lose a pregnancy it's always cautious optimism, because you never know what could happen when you've experienced the tragedy of losing a pregnancy."

He added: "Everything's been great so far. The kids are excited. We're all excited."

And speaking about Kayne West, John said: “My career story can't be told without Kanye’s involvement. We made a lot of amazing music together, so I’ll always be grateful for that."

He added: “Our friendship definitely took a rough patch, but my career is what it is because of our collaboration.”

John and his wife Chrissy attended Kim Kardashian and Kanye’s Italian wedding, but fell out over the rapper’s support of Donald Trump, with John later saying they were “never the closest”.

John’s wife Chrissy Teigen announced the couple are expecting their fourth child after a pregnancy ended in heartbreak in 2020.

And earlier this month, Chrissy Teigen shared that it has taken more than a year to understand that her miscarriage was in fact a life-saving abortion.

Chrissy, 36, and her husband, John, 43, shared the devastating news that lost their son Jack at 20 weeks in 2020 following complications.

Speaking at A Day of Unreasonable Conversation summit Chrissy has now said the realisation she’d had an abortion and not a miscarriage was a “shock”.

She explained: "It became very clear around halfway through that he would not survive, and that I wouldn’t either without any medical intervention,” she said at the summit.

“Let’s just call it what it was: It was an abortion. An abortion to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance. And to be honest, I never, ever put that together until, actually, a few months ago.”

Chrissy and John are already parents to Luna, six, and Miles, four.

John and Chrissy have tattoos of their late son Jack's name. Tattoo artist Winter Stone took to Instagram account to share the heartbreaking tribute with black-and-white photos. The snaps show the wrists of the two parents with their son Jack's name inked in cursive.

Winter captioned the snaps: "@chrissyteigen @johnlegend My heart is with you, sending you all the love!"

Chrissy, unveiled her tattoo, revealing it sits near the inking of the names of the other members of her family including John, Luna and Miles.

Shortly after the loss of their son, John penned an emotional open letter to Chrissy after dedicating an emotional performance of his new song, Never Break, at the Billboard Music Awards.

John wrote to his followers: "This is for Chrissy. I love and cherish you and our family so much.

"We've experienced the highest highs and lowest lows together. Watching you carry our children has been so moving and humbling.

"I'm in awe of the strength you've shown through the most challenging moments. What an awesome gift it is to be able to bring life into the world.

"We've experienced the miracle, the power and joy of this gift, and now we've deeply felt its inherent fragility."

Discussing the origins of the song, John continued: "I wrote this song because I have faith that as long as we walk this earth, we will hold each other's hands through every tear, through every up and down, through every test.

"We promised each other this on our wedding day seven years ago, and every challenge we've faced has made that promise more powerful, more resilient. Our love will remain. We will never break.

"Thank you to everyone who has been sending us prayers and well wishes, flowers, cards, words of comfort and empathy."
