Katie Price’s mum says her ‘favourite ex’ of her daughter is Harvey’s absent dad

Amy revealed that whilst the former premier league athlete has not appeared regularly in his son’s life, he held a special place in her heart.

An extract published by The Sun revealed: “When Kate told me she was dating Manchester United footballer Dwight Yorke, my heart sank.

“He had a reputation as a womaniser.”

Amy added: “But of all the men Kate has dated in her life, Dwight will – perhaps surprisingly – always be my favourite because he gifted us this incredible child.”

Katie revealed in her own book, Katie Price: Harvey and Me, that she had considered abortion because Dwight had confessed he did not want to be part of his child’s life.

“Dwight gave me the impression that if I kept it, he wouldn’t want to be with me,” she shared. “I didn’t think that would be fair on our child.”

The former Aston Villa player had also promised to attend baby scans and classes, but he didn’t keep to his word.

The Mirror reported that over the years, Katie has reached out to Dwight, and has written about how she claims to have approached Dwight about Harvey.

Her 2014 biography stated: “The last time Harvey’s biological father Dwight Yorke saw him, which was around eight years ago.” (sic)

“I have always said that if Dwight could see what a courageous and talented boy Harvey is then he would enjoy being with him so much.”

In a now-deleted 2016 Instagram post, she emphasised with her 2.7 million followers that Dwight did not want to be involved in Harvey’s life.

She posted a photo with the caption: “Harvey so looks like Dwight Yorke here shame he doesn’t want to see him.”

Dwight himself has remained fairly quiet on the matter with his last public comment appearing back in 2009

When contacted by Express.co.uk, Dwight’s reps confirmed they had “no comment”.

The sports star’s last public interview on Harvey was in 2009 when he claimed to the News of the World in 2009 that he wished he had been more involved but that Katie allegedly made things difficult.

“I felt as if she wanted to make things as awkward as possible for me. And she succeeded.

“I knew Harvey and I would never be allowed to build any kind of bond.”

As reported in the Mirror, Katie claimed that the last time she had met Dwight was in 2012 following a phone conversation he had had with Harvey that same year.

Amy also declared that Harvey’s father only appeared within the final hours of labour to view his son’s birth.

After a few hours with the child, he reportedly requested a paternity test after Harvey came out pale.

She added: “What should have been a lovely memory was spoiled by this cynicism.”

Dwight later contradicted Katie in his own 2009 Born To Score book claiming that the I’m A Celeb star refused to let him see his son.

He published: “From the moment I set eyes on the little fella, I have loved my son like I could never ever have imagined possible.

“I am not going to hear any more that I did not care for Harvey, or have any understanding of his needs or that I was not interested in his welfare.”

Harvey regularly appears with his mother on social media and various projects including documentaries, books and charity campaigns.

Most recently he has been attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the world’s longest drawing of a train for Mencap’s Learning Disability Week.

Harvey was born with several disabilities including partial blindness, ADHD and Prader-Willi syndrome.

Prader-Willi is a rare genetic condition with various symptoms including physical disabilities, learning difficulties and behavioural challenges, according to the NHS.

Katie shared on Instagram that she was “so proud” of her son for taking on the drawing challenge.

Amy Price’s book The Last Word will be available from July 7.

Amy confirmed that all royalties from the book had and would be donated to The Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals, Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis and St Barnabas House.
