Kim Kardashian shares unseen pics of wedding with Kanye for 5th anniversary

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will be celebrating five years of marriage on May 24 and to celebrate she has shared photos from behind-the-scenes.

The 38-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star began dating rapper Kanye in 2012 and two years later they married at a lavish ceremony in Italy.

Posting a selection of new photos on her Instagram , Kim captioned them with: "This was my wedding day almost 5 years ago in Italy.

"We flew in from Paris and our glam was rushed as we were trying to make it on time!

"We barely got my veil in as I was being pushed out the door so fast to walk down the isle because Andrea Bocelli had started singing and I couldn’t miss it.

"I had no idea it was really him until I got to the isle and screamed inside! So many amazing memories."

It was certainly a glamorous affair and here is the inside story of the big day.

The Venue

Kim had already ticked off the 'Hollywood wedding' when she tied the knot with Kris Humphries, for 72 days at least in 2011, so she wanted something different this time.

So, the Kardashians, Jenners and guests jetted over to Florence in Italy to have their ceremony at a 16th-century-era fortress, as this was the city where they conceived North.

Two venues – 500 miles apart

It getting married in Italy wasn't enough, Kim and Kanye flew over their guests to Paris for the night before, so they could have a party.

Kim arrived in an elaborate horse-drawn carriage, naturally.

The next day it was just a mere 552 mile trip to Florence for the nuptials.

An 'intimate' ceremony

After all the pomp and glamour, the service itself was 'intimate' with a backdrop of a flower wall setting off the occasion.

The couple's close friend Rich Wilkerson Jr served as the pastor

Here comes the bride

Cailtyn Jenner walked Kim down the aisle to the beautiful voice of opera singer Andrea Bocelli, who sang a number of songs, including "Con te Partirò."

No photos please

For someone that has lived her life in front of the camera, when it came to the wedding day, Kim asked for no photos to be taken.

It was agreed that it wouldn't be shown on their reality show, with Kim saying: "As much as we would love to share these memories, privacy is our main priority."

No phones either

To complete the no-photo restrictions, Kim and Kanye also banned the use of mobile phones, so that sneaky pics couldn't be taken.

In fact, all guests had to sign a non-disclosure agreement, so that details of the service were not shared.

Who said romance was dead?

Kanye's best man was second choice

While Kim had her sisters to be bridesmaids again, Kanye had turned to fellow rapper Jay Z to perform best man duties.

Unfortunately, this idea was KO'd by Beyonce and Kanye instead asked his long time manager, Don C, to do the business.

It was a four dress affair

Of course there was going to be dress changes and Kim wore four different outfits, with three of them being worn in Paris, on the day before.

The pre-wedding lunch, their rehearsal dinner, and her bachelorette party all saw different outfits but the wedding day was solely her Givenchy gown, which was designed by her close friend, Riccardo Tisci.

The moment that Kanye 'lost his mind'

Kanye was all over every minute detail of the wedding along with planner Sharon Stacks but he may have become almost too close to what was happening.

With the wedding just an hour away, Kanye took exception to the wooden bar they had installed, declaring it "looked like a bar from Texas."

He then took a saw to the front and cut it in half, declaring that "now it is art."

The elaborate place cards

Why have cardboard place cards when you can get a team of Italian stone masons to engrave the guests names directly into the 224-foot marble table.

Let them eat cake

If you want a cake that would fit the occasion, then going big is the only choice and so a seven-foot tall creation was made.

Crafted by Galateo Ricevimenti, it had seven tiers which mixed white cake with fruit layers.

The wedding singers

For the pre-wedding party, there was Lana Del Rey on hand to provide the entertainent.

The big day itself saw John Legend step up to take on the role of wedding singer.

Kanye's wedding gift

The gift had to be a showstopper on their wedding day and Kanye certainly stunned all that saw it.

Nothing says love than presenting you new wife with a painting of her, only wearing a 'g-string and pair of Louboutins.'

It cost tens of thousands to boot and was emblazoned with "My Queen Kim" and "Perfect B***h" on either side of her portait.

At least there was no chance of doubling up.
