The quartet were seen beaming for the camera appearing to be enjoying some downtime away from filming the show.

The producer commented: “Working with @Vicky_McClure @martin_compston #AdrianDunbar has been the highlight of my career.

“Thanks to the rest of the cast, our brilliant crews and the production team @worldprods @BBCOne @BBCTwo for six incredible seasons.”

Lorraine shared the post on her page, in view of her 646,000 followers.

She commented: “Thank you @jed_mercurio for creating something so very special.”

But, she jokingly warned: “But If Ted is H – then you and me are finished)”.

Names in the mix as the mystery H include Detective Chief Superintendent Patricia Carmichael, Chief Constable Philip Osborne, Retired bent cop Marcus Thurwell, Detective Superintendent Ian Buckells and Superintendent Ted Hastings.

Many of Lorraine’s fans shared their thoughts about what could happen in the drama this evening.

One commented: “Give them another show, they leave the police but somehow still investigate police corruption, I am sure you will come up with a plan? They are absolutely fantastic.”

A second added: “Please not Ted, Steve or Kate!”

“Agree! Love him too x,” a third added, in response to the host.

As well as guessing who H could be, fans have also shared their thoughts on series six potentially being the last.
