Love Island’s Indiyah declares Dami ‘ready to be a dad’ in first post-show interview

Love Island star Indiyah Polack boldly declared that she thinks her partner Dami Hope is “ready to be a dad” as the couple sat down for their first post-show interview since leaving the villa on Monday.

The loved up couple came third in this year’s series, which saw Turkish bombshell Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Italian heartthrob Davide Sanclimenti claim the coveted win.

Despite missing out on the Love Island crown, Indiyah and Dami still have their eyes firmly fixed on their future together, with Indiyah even revealing she thinks Dami would be a brilliant dad, after seeing his impeccable parenting skills during this year’s baby challenge.

“I feel like Dami is maybe ready to be a dad," admitted Indiyah. "He’s actually a perfect dad. Seeing Dami with Baby Sienna was really cute."

She continued: "But kids, definitely in the future and it was nice to see Dami being hands on. I know in the future, he’ll be a great dad."

During the challenge, the Islanders were tasked with taking care of a baby doll for 24 hours and tending to its needs, from changing to feeding and everything in between.

It was during this challenge that Indiyah experienced Dami’s hands on approach to parenting as he doted on their baby girl, who the couple had adorably named Sienna Funke.

While children may be off the table for the time being, Indiyah did reveal that the couple had discussed the possibility of moving in together, something Dami himself also admitted he wasn’t in any hurry to rush.

Speaking of their plans to move in together, Indiyah said: “I feel like eventually, yeah. Dami wants to come to London.”

Dami added: “I’m going to move to London but I don’t know if we’ll get our own place so soon.”

Indiyah agreed, with the pair wanting to readjust to reality outside of the villa before taking a more permanent plunge.

She said they won't be living together "straight away", explaining: "We have to look around, spend time, meet families and stuff and do it when the time is right.

“I feel like it won’t be an issue because we’ve spent so much time together and we know that we can live together.”

During the exit interview, it was also revealed that Indiyah was wearing a ring on a very specific finger, possibly hinting at another life changing step in their relationship further down the line.

“This is the ring from Snog Marry Pie,” explained Dami.

To which Indiyah giddily replied: “I kept it! It’s our promise ring. But now we’re actually boyfriend and girlfriend, I’ve got to wait for a real ring…”

Love Island: The Reunion airs on Sunday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
