Mission Mangal box office collection day 5 early estimates: Akshay Kumar- Vidya Balan starrer enters the 100 crore club | Bollywood Life

Mission Mangal has set the box office on fire. Within just five days of its release, the Jagan Shakti directorial has entered the coveted 100 crore club and that is huge. Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari and Sonakshi Sinha starrer has done wonders at the ticket windows. And fans are gathering in large numbers to watch this cinematic masterpiece. The film was off to a flying start as it minted Rs 29.16 crore on the first day itself.

Over the next three days, Mission Mangal went from strength to strength and the film’s box office collection till Monday was Rs 97.56 crore. Needless to say, the movie has passed the Monday test with flying colours as it collected approximately Rs 10 crore on Monday, according to early estimates. This means, Mission Mangal has earned Rs 107. 56 crore in just five-day run at the box office. Isn’t it fantastic?

Reacting to the response that his film received on its release day, Akshay Kumar had said, “On a release day, when you know things are going well, I subside. It’s a normal reaction from my side. I was not expecting this kind of response, to be honest. This is a new genre, never done in the Indian film industry. I am glad this has worked and a new genre has opened up for the film industry. Hollywood makes fourteen to fifteen films on science, but this is our first. Just last night I was pitched a science fiction. I knew this has worked and now several films will be made.”

The actor also shared that while he was working on Mission Mangal, a lot of people told him and his team that the film would do around just Rs 60-70 crore as the genre was never explored before in Bollywood. Contrary to what people said, Mission Mangal has turned out to be a big hit at BO and it’s winning streak will continue for sure.
