Molly-Mae Hague accused of ‘cultural appropriation’ over Halloween costume

Molly-Mae Hague has come under fire for her Halloween costume, after she dressed up as Cleopatra.

The Love Island star showed off her outfit on Instagram, opting for a Egyptian-style beaded headdress, along with a strapless black outfit with gold arm cuffs, as she clutched a gold staff.

However, her 3.5million followers were left unimpressed, with many accusing the 20-year-old of culturally appropriation.

Sliding into the comments, one fumed: ‘Love the look but this is cultural appropriation x.’

‘Always loved Molly-Mae’s looks but this is disappointing and unnecessary smh,’ another said.

‘My culture is not your Halloween costume,’ a follower replied.

As an Instagram user posted: ‘Cultural appropriation for Halloween at its finest.’

While a fan simply asked: ‘How is that supposed to be scary?’

However, others rushed to defend Tommy Fury’s girlfriend, praising her as ‘Halloween goals’.

‘Wow best outfit so far I seen. Go Molly,’ a comment read.

‘You look hot babe … I wanted to be Cleopatra as well,’ a fan said.

As one screamed: ‘OMG HALLOWEEN OUTFIT GOALS.’

Molly-Mae has yet to respond to the backlash, but gave fans an update on her weekend plans, revealing she was taking care of her poorly beau.

The Instagram influencer met the boxer in the Love Island villa, and the loved-up pair have never looked back.

In fact, in a Q&A session on YouTube, the pair revealed they had already started planning their future together.

‘We both definitely want children,’ she told a fan when asked about starting a family. ‘But obviously we’re both only 20 years old.’

While Tommy had a slightly more honest approach, confessing: ‘We’ve been trying to make children most nights.

‘We’ve been [snuggling] in the bedroom, I want twins by the time I’m 22, simple as that.’

We’re pretty sure Molly-Mae might get a say in that…
