Orlando Bloom corrects awkward tattoo fail after misspelling son’s name

Orlando Bloom has corrected the awkward error in his new tattoo after realising he'd misspelled his son's name.

The father of one, 43, took to social media today to show off the back fine-line artwork that runs up his arm, which had originally been missing an important dot.

“•-••-••-•—•-• finally dot it right! How do you make a mistake like that? #pinterestfail fortunately I know how to spell Sidi. Forever my boy,” he wrote alongside the smiling black and white shot of his updated tattoo.

The Hollywood actor debuted his new ink earlier this week, proudly showing off a Morse code spelling which he thought was his son’s name, date of birth and the time he was born.

It wasn’t long, however, before fans noticed an issue with the touching tribute to his nine-year-old Flynn, whom he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.

Tattoo artist Balazs Bercsenyi also admitted the blunder on his social media before amending the artwork yesterday.

“A beautiful reminder for @orlandobloom of his son and yes, a dot is missing, we know, it will be fixed :)” the popular tattoo artist wrote.

It since became apparent that Orlando had found the original design on Pinterest, and failed to realise that it was misspelt.

“Round 2 with @orlandobloom+ we added the missing dot to the morse code, and did a small one in memory of Sidi, his dog + conclusion: never fully trust what your clients find on pinterest + Life is officially back to normal,” the tattoo artist joked.

Prior to the tattoo, which now features a tribute to his late pooch, the Pirate's Of The Caribbean star was reportedly so distraught after losing his beloved canine friend, he took measures into his own hands in order to keep him in his life.

He took drastic measures and had his dog’s bones turned into an ornamental skeleton.

Even more tattoo tributes could be on the way for Orlando, who is currently engaged to Katy Perry, as the couple have expressed hopes of starting a family of their own very soon.

Bloom recently said: “Listen, I love kids, I love that she is great with kids and it would be a wonderful thing. We are shooting for that. I mean, she’s like a kid so she’s unbelievable to kids.

He’s also certainly not the only celebrity to have a tattoo blunder after searching for inspiration online.

In 2019, US singer Adiana Grande thought she had got “7 Rings” tattooed on her in Japanese, but instead it actually reads “shichirin” which is a Japanese barbeque grill.

As for David Beckham, he accidentally misspelled a touching tribute to his wife when he got her name written on his arm in Hindi.
