Princess Mette-Marit of Norway Breaks Tailbone in Skiing Accident

Princess Mette-Marit of Norway is recovering after a scary skiing accident.

People reports that on a pre-Christmas ski trip, Princess Mette-Marit‘s skis were tangled with her daughter’s as they were getting off a ski lift, causing Mette-Marit to fall and fracture her tailbone. She spent a night recovering in a hospital before returning home to celebrate Christmas with the Norwegian Royal Family.

In fall 2018, Princess Mette-Marit revealed she had been battling the chronic lung disease pulmonary fibrosis. Despite this, the royal has remained an accomplished skier, often posting impressive videos of her skiing to her Instagram. In a recent post taken by her son, Princess Mette-Marit is seeing racing down a slope in Uvdal, the same mountain her accident took place.
