Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice addresses reports Rose Ayling-Ellis is ‘pulling out of tour’

Giovanni Pernice has joked about rumoursRose Ayling-Ellis won’t be joining him on theStrictly Come Dancing live tour.

There have been rumours that Rose, the show’s first deaf contestant, would be pulling out before the first show opens in Birmingham this week.

However, her professional partner, who gifted his parents his trophy after winning the show with Rose, was quick to quash the rumours.

Sitting on the tour bus, he addressed his fans on Instagram Stories.

"Just a quick message to clarify all the rumours that are going around at the moment," he said.

"Yes, it's true. Rose is not doing the tour at all anymore, so I will be dancing on my own, all day, every day."

But before he could continue, Rose appeared from behind the phone.

"I’m not going anywhere," she interrupted, before Giovanni asked in reply: "You’re not going anywhere? You are coming on tour with me? Oh, she is doing the tour."

"Are you happy?" Rose asked, before Giovanni replied, "Very. Thank you."

The duo won the BBC dancing competition in December, after an emotional show dance to Bette Midler’s The Rose.

And following her win,it's thought Rose could quit her role in EastEnders to pursue 'high-profile projects' in the near future.

The pair are set to star in the show’s live tour across the UK along with other couples from last year’s series.

They’ll be joined by runners-up, chefJohn Whaite andJohannes Radebe, children’s presenterRhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu, Dragon’s Den starSara Davies andAljaž Škorjanec, and chef and TikTok starTilly Ramsay and Nikita Kuzmin.

Two of the 2020 series' stars, singerMax George, who will be partnered withKatya Jones, andEastEnders actressMaisie Smith, who will be dancing with Kai Widdrington, will also be taking part.

Maisie is a last-minute replacement for presenterAJ Odudu, who stormed to the final with Kai in the 2021 series.

However,a serious foot injury prevented her from competing against Rose and John, and has ruled her out of the tour too.
