Thomas Rhett Earns 14th Country Airplay No. 1 With ‘Remember You Young’

Thomas Rhett has earned his 14th No. 1 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart thanks to his “Remember You Young” rising 3-1 on the list dated December 21.

According to Nielsen Music, “Remember You Young,” the second single from the album Center Point Road, logged 37.8 million audience impressions in the week ending December 15, scoring a 7% increase.

The song is Rhett’s eighth straight Country Airplay No. 1, giving him the longest active run. Luke Combs, with seven straight No. 1s, and Old Dominion with six, rank No. 2 and 3 in the list.

Rhett co-wrote the song with Ashley Gorley and Jesse Frasure. Earlier, “Look What God Gave Her,” another song from the album, had topped the Country Airplay list dated June 29.

Rhett had previously ruled Country Airplay with “Sixteen” from Life Changes, his first album to yield five No. 1s. “Craving You,” “Unforgettable,” “Marry Me” and the title track were the other four to top the list.

“‘Remember You Young’ is one of my favorite tracks on this record, and easily one of the most special I’ve written in my career,” Rhett told Billboard after hearing the news of his latest coronation.

“Ashley, Jesse and I actually wrote it twice, but it was the second go-round where we really captured what we were trying to say,” he added. “It’s about just always seeing the most important people in your life — your best friends that you grew up with, your wife, your babies — in their youth and in their innocence. I’m so humbled and grateful by the reaction that it’s gotten.”

Center Point Road, which is Rhett’s fourth full-length record, debuted atop the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums charts dated June 15.

Rhett’s first No. 1 on Country Airplay was “It Goes Like This,” which stayed on top for three weeks in 2013.
