Ulrika Jonsson says she’s ‘free to marry again’ as she shows off divorce papers

Ulrika Jonsson has revealed she broke down in tears after receiving email confirmation that her marriage to third husband Brian Monet was officially over this week.

The 51-year-old TV presenter announced that she and Brian had split back in April after more than a decade together.

This week the pair were granted a Decree Absolute, with an emotional Ulrika sharing the email with her followers on Instagram .

Alongside it she wrote: "You know when you’ve waited for something for so long but it still catches your breath and your eyes sting with tears when it finally arrives.

Ulrika then appeared a little more positive as she signed off with the hashtag: 'New chapter for this old bird.'

Just last month, Ulrika shared some very candid insights into her doomed marriage with Brian and told how they'd had sex just once in eight years.

Ulrika said she felt "rejected" and "heartbroken" after their sex life fizzled out completley.

In a piece written for The Sun , she explained: "Just before my 50th birthday, I remember thinking I might have to just accept that I would never have sex ever again.

"The reason I thought this is because I had not had sex for four and half years.

"And the time before that was four years prior. I was living in a sexless marriage for nearly a decade…

"It felt… as if part of my life was over…

"It made me, as a woman who has always enjoyed affection in relationships, feel rejected and confused, especially as there had been a really great sexual attraction between us when we met."

Ulrika revealed she had no idea why the couple's sex life vanished – they had the "normal distractions of life" like children and work, but insisted her "desire hadn’t waned".

She insists she just wanted to feel loved, and it got worse went she went through menopause.

Ulrika also told how she felt utterly distraught when the marriage ended last year, but the telly star is now optimistic about the future.

The mum said that her four children and even her dogs are now "considerably happier" and the former couple are continuing to co-parent.

She ended by insisting that although she's single, she's not ready to start dating again but she is looking forward to enjoying her new life.

Ulrika and Brian have a son together, Malcolm, and she has three other children from previous relationships.
