Um, Joe Jonas Almost Accidentally Kissed Sophie Turner’s ‘Game of Thrones’ Photo Double

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas basically seem like the perfect couple, but apparently they’ve had some super awkward mishaps during their relationship.

While talking about her new movie Dark Phoenix on an Australian podcast, Sophie got on the topic of stunt doubles and she dropped this bomb.

“On Game of Thrones, I had a photo double who people would do double takes at because she looks so much like me. It was insane. Even Joe went up to her at one point and tried to give her a kiss, and then he was like, ‘Oh, sorry, sorry! It’s not Sophie!’”

OMG. Can you imagine how awkward that would be for all parties involved? Like, imagine being some poor girl just standing on a TV set when Sophie Turner’s future-husband accidentally almost kisses you. And imagine how awk Joe must have felt. AND IMAGINE how weird it must have been for Sophie. SO MUCH CRINGE.

To clarify how this moment could have possibly happened, here’s a fun fact for you. Stunt doubles and photo doubles are actually different. A stunt double, as you probably know, does stunts for the actor so they don’t endanger themselves.

Sansa, Thank you for teaching me resilience, bravery and what true strength really is. Thank you teaching me to be kind and patient and to lead with love. I grew up with you. I fell in love with you at 13 and now 10 years on.. at 23 I leave you behind, but I will never leave behind what you’ve taught me. To the show and the incredible people who make it, thank you for giving me the best life and drama lessons I could have ever asked for. Without you I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Thank you for giving me this chance all those years ago. And finally to the fans. Thank you for falling in love with these characters and supporting this show right through till the end. I’ll miss this more than anything.

A photo double, on the other hand, is supposed to look freakishly like the actor so they can legit be in scenes for them when the character is, for example, in the background of a shot. So it kinda makes sense that Joe would confuse the two. They were supposed to look identical.

The more you know! Still awk, though.
