What Khloe Kardashian Texted Lamar Odom After Shocking Claims About Her In New Memoir

“She sent me a text yesterday,” Odom says in a new interview with Jenny McCarthy.

While Khloe Kardashian hasn’t commented publicly about Lamar Odom’s new tell-all and the claims he made about their relationship in it, she apparently has reached out to him about one of the book’s more shocking stories.

Speaking with Jenny McCarthy on her SiriusXM show on Wednesday, Odom revealed his ex-wife texted him yesterday, after the memoir’s release.

"Um, she sent me a text yesterday," the athlete said, after he was asked if he knew how Khloe felt about the book. "She good, she talked about one of the stories I told in the book. About her coming to the hotel and putting her hands on the girl. She said she didn’t even think I remembered that story."

He characterized the exchange as "friendly."

In the book, "Darkness to Light," Odom claimed he "had broken my vows with Khloe so many times" before Kardashian started checking his Black Card statements. One night, he said she tracked his movements to the Hotel Roosevelt in Hollywood, where he was shacked up with two strippers and a lot of drugs.

Around midnight, there was a "pounding" at the door — and on the other side was Khloe, Kris Jenner and their security team. "Khloe opened the door and pounced on the first girl she saw," said Lamar.

"Try to imagine the scene: Khloe’s beating the shit out of one of the girls who tried to protest. She’s dropping vicious blows all over the top of this girl’s head," he claimed. "Kris is screaming and her security guard jumps in and pulls Khloe off the beaten stripper. Khloe tells me to gather up my things, and the guards quickly remove all traces of the drugs. We sneak out of a back door of the Roosevelt and disappear into the night."

Speaking with McCarthy, he said he hoped they continue to keep the lines of communication open. "The next house I buy, hopefully she can decorate it," he added. "They’re amazing decorators, they’re amazing homemakers."

"She’s an incredible person and she’ll always have a place in my heart and be dear to me," he said, also calling her the love of his life. "She’s extremely courageous and tough and strong."

The two tied the knot in 2009, just one month after they met at a Hollywood party. When asked why they moved so quickly, Odom said, "Love is strange, man." He added, "I love my family with all my heart, but that’s how I knew she was the one because no one could tell me no, I wasn’t getting married to Khloe. It would have been real easy for me to say, don’t ever call me again, that’s how strong it was."

He explained to McCarthy that the marriage did put a strain on his relationship with his two kids, who he shares with Liza Morales.

"It took some time for their mother to come around, just like it took some time for my family to come around," he said. "My immediate family really didn’t support me and Khloe getting married. I don’t know if it was because of who she was, how fast it was or maybe they didn’t feel like they were being involved, they didn’t really click. It took some time for my kids to come over to my house and spend some time with us in California."

While Jenny claimed she had a confidentiality agreement with Jim Carrey when they were together, Odom said the same wasn’t true for him and Khloe. He also said he’ll "always have a soft spot" for Kris — even though he had some less-than-positive things to say about her in his book — and said his relationship to Rob Kardashian was a brotherly one.

When asked if he’s spoken to the latter lately, he said, "Nah, in some ways I expect it, the way I treated his sister."

Khloe was there for Lamar when he was hospitalized following an overdose at a Nevada brothel, making medical decisions for him even though they were separated. She also helped him get back on his feet after he was released.

"I just learned how to talk and walk, I didn’t know how to express empathy at that time, it was a fog," he explained, when asked why they still couldn’t make it work. "She moved me into a house in Calabasas in the same community that she lived in and that probably was my time. I didn’t know how to go about that. Maybe I was shameful, probably a lot of subconscious things going on in my head at the time. It really wasn’t that long ago, but it seems so distant."

He added he "[wakes] up hoping" for another chance with Khloe, but told McCarthy she’d "probably have to ask" his ex-wife how she feels in return.

Odom also thanked Kanye West for helping "wake my soul up with his music" while in the hospital, adding that he was "forever grateful to him for that."

Odom’s memoir, "Darkness to Light" is available now.
