Controversy surrounding Shiridi: Temple to shut down?

Ayodhya was a big issue in the country for decades. Very recently the Supreme Court has put an end to this issue but there raked up one more controversy surrounding a place and it is Shiridi. This place is believed to be 19th-century saint Sai Baba’s birth place. But there is another group that say Sai Baba was born in Pathri of Parbhani city of Maharashtra.

Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray has allotted Rs 100 crore for the development of Pathri and the Sai Baba Sansthan Trust of Shiridi is upset with Maha sarkar’s decision.

In protest against this, the Sai Baba Trust has decided to shut down the temple indefinitely from tomorrow. The Trust members added that they will have a word with the people of Shiridi before taking a final call.

There is no concrete evidence about Sai Baba’s birthplace but he remained in Shiridi until his last breath. How will the Maharashtra government tackle this? The indefinite shut down will severely affect the devotee who come in large number daily.
