Flood-hit dairy farmers to get aid

Minister for Dairy Development K. Raju inaugurated the distribution of financial aid for dairy farmers affected by floods last year.

A statement from the Ernakulam Regional Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union said on Saturday that the aid was being given to farmers who had lost milch animals and calves.

Central funds

The relief is given out of the ₹14.24 crore sanctioned by the Centre as part of a revival package for the dairy sector, the release added. Milma chairman P.A.
