GO No 1: High Court Shock to AP Government

AP High Court Shock to govt on GO Number 1: Andhra Pradesh opposition leader Chandrababu Kandukuru road show, followed by assembly in Guntur, 11 people died. Taking this matter seriously, the Jagan Mohan  Reddy led Andhra Pradesh government has implemented GO Number 1. But the opposition was furious on GO Number, saying that it was a British-era law. CPI State Secretary Ramakrishna has filed a petition in the High Court challenging the same.

As a result of it,  the High Court, which heard this petition, issued an interim order suspending GO Number 1 till the 23rd. After hearing the arguments of both sides, the High Court issued this interim order. Taking the view that GO Number 1 is against the rules, the court not only directed the Andhra Pradesh government to file a counter  petition by the 20th of this month, but also postponed the next hearing to 20th January.

 High Court suspended the GO 1/2023 while hearing to a petition filed by Ramakrishna regarding the same.

In Andhra Pradesh, there is uproar over GO Number One brought by the Andhra Pradesh government by imposing restrictions on road shows and rallies. 

The government argued that GO was issued to avoid stampedes like that occurred in Kandukuru and Guntur, during Chandrababu Naidu’s roadshows.

The opposition is furious with the government for trying to kill democracy with British-era laws. But this is a shocking news for the government.
