Govt. ratifies transfer of SRSP work to MEIL

Balance work to cost over ₹366 crore

The State government has ratified the transfer of some components of SRSP Phase-II work costing over ₹366 crore from a joint venture led by IVRCL to MEIL.

Orders issued

In the orders issued on Tuesday, it said the balance work of investigation, design and execution of the lift scheme from Thotapally reservoir to Gouravelly reservoir, including tunnel and other allied work of the flood flow canal from the SRSP Phase-II near Regonda village of Husnabad mandal in Siddipet district, was entrusted to the MEIL following a proposal by the Engineer-in-Chief. The balance work worth ₹366.26 crore has been transferred to MEIL at original agreement rates and conditions stipulated to IVRCL, BATPASCO, ABB & AAG (JV) duly deleting from the scope of the latter as per clause 60 (c) of detailed standard specifications. The remaining value of work with M/s. IVRCL, BATPASCO, ABB &AAG (JV) is ₹1,418 crore.

Slow progress

Under clause 60 (c), any part of a work is given to another contractor in case the rate of progress as in the agreement is not maintained.
