Mallesham Director Paka to debut at Toronto International Film Fest

Telugu film, Mallesham helmer Raj Rachakonda has come up with another interesting film in Malayalam titled Paka – The River of Blood.  It is directed by Nithin Lukose (Sound Designer of Mallesham) and jointly produced by Anurag Kashyap and Raj Rachakonda.  According to Nithin Lukose, he grew up listening to his grandmother narrates stories of people in the highlands of Wayanad. These tales are the inspiration for him to make his début Malayalam feature film, Paka: The River of Blood. The movie is set in Wayanad and is about the feud between two families that has lasted generations.

Now according to the latest report, Nithin Lukose’s “Paka” and Ritwik Pareek’s “Dug Dug” are the two Indian films to have been selected for the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival.

Paka: The River of Blood starring   Vinitha Koshy, Basil Paulose, Jose Kizhakkan, Athul John, Nithin George, Joseph Manickal.  The movie had earlier won the best WIP project in the Work-in-Progress Lab of NFDC Film Bazaar 2020 and now it has been selected for Toronto International Film Festival 2021.

According to Raj Rachakonda, he decided to bankroll Nithiin Lukose’ movie as he was impressed by his work as a sound designer on the 2019 Telugu movie Mallesham.
