West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday came out in support of the political parties in Tamil Nadu against the imposition of the three-language policy as suggested in the draft of the National Education Policy.
“Every State has a character and a language. Regional language should be the first priority and I fully support regional languages. Bengali is my mother tongue and I love it,” she told journalists.
“Every regional language we must give full support to. You [Centre] must understand that you cannot interfere in everything.”
