Udhayanidhi Stalin sworn in as Minister by Tamil Nadu Governor

DMK’s youth wing leader and MLA, Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni constituency, Udhayanidhi Stalin was sworn in as Minister here on Wednesday by Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi.

In the presence of CM MK Stalin and his Cabinet colleagues, Udhayanidhi Stalin who was clad in his trademark white shirt, with a logo of DMK’s youth wing embossed on it,  was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Tamil Nadu Governor  RN Ravi in a ceremony  that was held at the Raj Bhavan. Stalin, wife Durga, Udhayanidhi’s wife Kiruthiga, MPs Kanimozhi Karunanidhi and Dayanidhi Maran, ministers were among those present in the swearing in ceremony. The swearing in ceremony was over in ten minutes. The 45 years old MLA Udhayanidhi Stalin was congratulated by State Ministers and senior party leaders.

Udhayanidhi Stalin has been allotted the portfolios of Youth Welfare  and  Sports Development as well as Special Programme Implementation. Tamilnadu Cabinet now has 39 Ministers

In 2021, Udhayanidhi Stalin contested the assembly elections from Chepauk-Tiruvallikeni, a constituency in Chennai represented by his grandfather, and won by a massive margin.

 He was appointed as youth wing secretary of the party in July, after the DMK alliance swept the election. The wing was originally started by Stalin in 1968, and was headed by him as secretary for nearly 4 decades.
