‘Will Arrest If Anyone Shouts Jai Amaravati’

The protests from Amaravati region villages are going relentlessly with a single demand to retain the Amaravati as capital, while the AP Govt is going ahead with its decision on three capital rule and is currently on trials to bring the ordinance on CRDA and Decentralization bills by proroguing the assembly and council.

In a rather bizarre situation, the police at Amaravati region Mandadam village reportedly received orders to ‘arrest anyone who shouts Jai Amaravati’ and they warned the farmers at the protests regarding the same. This new condition from police about raising slogans on ‘Jai Amaravati’, appears way too suppressive says protestors.

Opposition party MLC Nara Lokesh spoke to media about ongoing protests on the Amaravati region Mandadam, saying that the state government is behaving in a suppressive mode by ignoring the High Court notices and warning. He alleged that this state government is filing false cases on farmers and active protestors at Amaravati and the words ‘Jai Amaravati’ has become the anti-government slogan.

He reminded that the government has filed cases on 17 people in Amaravati and 11 people have been arrested for protesting at Amaravati.
