Tamil Nadu govt’s performance exemplary in controlling Covid-19 surge, says home minister Amit Shah in Chennai

Union home minister Amit Shah congratulated the Tamil Nadu government for their handling of Covid-19 pandemic and said that the state government has been exemplary when compared to other states in terms of testing and recovery rates.

Shah who is on a two-day visit to Chennai highlighted several projects undertaken by the Narendra Modi-led government and pointed out that the Centre has ensured that people of Tamil Nadu receive equal benefits of these projects.

Shah said, “Modi government has transferred more than Rs 4,000 crore for the benefit of Tamil Nadu’s 45 lakh farmers.” He also said that several women have also benefitted from central’s Ujjwala scheme and have had money directly transferred to their accounts because of Centre’s initiatives.
