Ant McPartlin calls out Dec Donnelly’s ‘blunder’ live on Britain’s Got Talent

Britain’s Got Talent’s live semi-final on Wednesday didn’t get off to the best of starts, after host Dec Donnelly made a mistake on-air – or so it was claimed.

His co-host Ant McPartlin hilariously called him out on it, making viewers aware of his apparent 'blunder'.

It came as the boys introduced the first act for the third semi-final of the week, with all-female magic act Angels Inc taking to the stage.

Dec revealed the girls were from Holland, and were hoping to go all the way to the final.

It’s then that Ant brought up his geographical "error" on air, claiming he’d made a bit of a mistake about the girls.

He told the viewers at home the ladies were in fact from The Netherlands, before mocking his pal, despite Holland being a region in the country.

Ant said: “No actually, they’re not from Holland. They’re from The Netherlands.”

While Holland is often used informally as the name for the country, Holland actually only covers two provinces in the country.

Dec, who was most likely aware of this, kept straight-faced and stared at the camera awkwardly, before Ant made a final dig.

He said: “You made a bit of a mug of yourself there didn’t you.”

Judge Alesha Dixon could be heard laughing in the background, with the audience also in hysterics over the joke.

Viewers took to Twitter over the moment, as Dec moved on with the live show.

One fan said: “Hahahahahaha Ant is sooo trueeeee.”

Another tweeted: “Ant & Dec are brilliant.”

Britain’s Got Talent airs live all week at 9pm on ITV.
