‘I was very happy to give it a shot,’ Juhi Parmar on playing a pregnant mother-in-law in Humari Wali Good News

Juhi Parmar is all set to play a pregnant mother-in-law in Humari Wali Good News. It is all giving the Badhaai Ho vibes. Juhi is returning to a small-screen after a small gap. She was last seen in Tantra. Juhi plays the mother-in-law, Renuka who becomes a surrogate for her daughter-in-law. When asked about what attracted her to the show, the actress told Mumbai Mirror, “The concept of the show was initially what caught my eye. It is something
which has not been experimented with before on screen and also something I have not worked on before, and hence I was very happy to give it a shot.”

“The show focusses on my character Renuka conceiving a child for her daughter-in-law who cannot, which I feel is a lovely aspect to showcase on the screen, to inspire all the women out there that there is nothing better
than truly helping out and being there for another woman during her tough times,” she added.

Elaborating on her character, she said, “Renuka’s dynamics are different with every family member and the character overall is very colourful so much so that there is a different side to her in every scene. I am still experimenting and discovering these layers of my character and I am confident that the audience is going to enjoy watching her on screen as much as I am enjoying playing the character.”

When asked as to how she felt on resuming shoot amidst the pandemic, Juhi added, “It feels lovely to be back on screen! Acting is my passion and this is where I truly belong. It is my first love, and I am very happy to be back on set as there is nothing like facing the camera. I have always been in love with the fact that I am in front of the camera. My true love affair with the camera goes back a long way.”

She also opened up on the sanitisation and hygiene practises on the sets saying, “The team on set has fortunately been very precise with safety and hygiene protocols. Regular sanitsation, oxygen and temperature checks and ensuring that everyone is wearing masks in between shots is always being taken care of, which in turn has made our entire shooting process a smooth one.”
