#13YearsofDon: Farhan Akhtar gives a shout out to Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and the ‘best cast’ | Bollywood Life

We keep hearing rumours and talks about Don 3 and it is equally enthralling each time because of the impact the remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s Don had on the mind of the cine-goers. With Shah Rukh Khan at the forefront and Farhan Akhtar at the helm, the hit franchise had won over on each one of us. Be it the dialogues or the music, Don was one of the rare instances where a remake had managed to break the spell. Like that was not enough, it also had Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal and other talented actors in the mix, assuring a blockbuster at the movies.

Ranbir Kapoor to step into Shah Rukh Khan’s shoes for Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3?

In fact, today is the right day to reminisce all that because Don has clocked 13 years after its release and Farhan Akhtar is nostalgic. The director/producer/actor even took to Instagram to thank the ‘best cast’ including Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra and wrote, “The number 13. Lucky for some. Unlucky for others. Don doesn’t give a damn..!! He creates his own destiny ??? Boom. A big shout out to the best cast and crew one could have hoped for to recreate this classic. @iamsrk @priyankachopra @rampal72 @boman_irani @isha_konnects @ritesh_sid @shankarehsaanloy @shankar.mahadevan @excelmovies Miss you Om-ji. Miss you Hassan Kutty. #13yearsofDon”

Recently, Priyanka in an exclusive interview to BollywoodLife, had opened up about working with Farhan Akhtar on Don. She had said, “Farhan gave me one of my biggest films when I was two years in the business. So, he has known me from when I was just learning acting.” Not just that, she also confessed that she was scared of Farhan Akhtar, the director when she met him first. “I was scared of him, I was scared of talking to him. He was Farhan Akhtar after Dil Chahta Hai and I had just done Andaaz and Mujhse Shaadi Karoge. I was like (makes wide eyes) that I’m working with this director,” the actress added.

Just to remind you, Priyanka and Farhan swept us all off our feet in their last film The Sky Is Pink. The Shonali Bose directorial brought them together as pair in a story which was inspired by the life events of motivational speak Aisha Chaudhary. Meanwhile, buzz is that King Khan will announce two new films on his birthday, November 2. One of them is supposed to be with Rajkumar Hirani who has a 100% track record of critical and commercial hits so far. There are also talks that he may do a film with Tamil cinema’s celebrated filmmaker, S. Shankar, after the latter finishes the Indian sequel with Kamal Haasan.
