Even if you’re not Australian, there’s a good chance you know Bindi Irwin.
She’s the daughter of the late zookeeper and wildlife conservationist, Steve Irwin, aka The Crocodile Hunter.
Steve died in 2006 after being stung in the heart by a stingray.
Since her father’s death when she was just eight years old, Bindi has grown up to continue her father’s work, along with her mother, Terri, and younger brother, Robert.
I honestly can’t believe how much time has passed, but Bindi celebrated her 21st birthday last week…with an engagement!
In an Instagram post, she wrote, “July 24th, 2019 ❤️. On my birthday I said ‘yes’ and ‘forever’ to the love of my life.”
“Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness,” she continued.
“I’m so looking forwarding to spending our forever together as your wife. Here’s to a lifetime of friendship, purpose and unconditional love — Now let’s get married already!”
As if that wasn’t emotional enough, today she penned a heartfelt message to her father, revealing that her brother will walk her down the aisle in his place.
She said, “Dad, you would be so incredibly proud of Robert. He has been such an amazing support during this beautiful new life chapter.”
