#Brahmastra: Here’s why Alia Bhatt returned to Mumbai with Ranbir Kapoor 3 days before wrap-up | Bollywood Life

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor left for Varanasi in the last week of May to begin the new schedule of their mythological action-adventure, Brahmastra directed by Ayan Mukerji. The duo was joined by Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna for the shoot, as they have key roles in Karan Johar’s production venture too. However, the shoot of Brahmastra came to a halt, three days before wrap-up as Alia’s stomach bug worsened. The Raazi actress had to immediately return to Mumbai as her health worsened during the course of the shoot. She was spotted at the airport yesterday with her boyfriend and co-star Ranbir Kapoor.

A source close to the development informed Mumbai Mirror that both Alia and Ranbir were to shoot a song over the next three but it had to be pushed as the actress suddenly fell sick. “Alia continued to work but Ayan decided to call off the shoot. The team will now return to the city in November for the song,” the source added.

Now that Alia has safely returned, she will be consulting a specialist and take rest before resuming the shoot of Brahmastra. We wish a speedy recovery to Alia and hope she is back in action soon.

Meanwhile, Brahmastra’s release has been pushed to summer 2020. Ayan Mukerji’s trilogy was earlier set to release during Christmas 2019 and lock horns with Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha starrer Dabangg 3, helmed by Prabhudheva. It was just recently when Ayan announced the new release for Brahmastra on his Instagram handle.

In a long note to the media and audience, the filmmaker wrote, “In the past week, I have learnt all the teams working on the movie, led by my VFX teams, need more time in order to get the VFX right, to get the sound right and eventually the movie right. With that in mind, we are moving away from Christmas 2019 release as our goal for the release of the movie. Working towards the goal that could affect the most important goal- which is to create the best possible movie experience that Brahmastra can be. Our release is now slated for Summer 2020 but we will announce this officially once we are officially certain of the date.”

Even if the film is releasing next year, we have huge expectations from Brahmastra and are sure Ranbir, Alia, Mouni, Nagarjuna, Amitabh Bachchan and Dimple Kapadia will not disappoint us.
