EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Paul Weller is to become grandfather for first time

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Paul Weller is to become a grandfather for the first time as model daughter Leah, 29, confirms she is pregnant

He’s the ‘Modgrandfather’! The Jam frontman Paul Weller, who’s known as the Modfather, is preparing for a new role.

I can reveal that his daughter, Leah, 29, is pregnant — and the baby will be his first grandchild.

‘We are over the moon,’ says Leah, who shared this photograph of her bump alongside her husband, fellow model Tomo Kurata. Leah’s mother is The Style Council singer Dee C. Lee.

Weller, 63, welcomed his eighth child four years ago. The baby was his third with his second wife, Hannah Andrews, giving him as many children as rock knights Rod Stewart and Mick Jagger.

Dame Emma’s specs stolen in £½m raid on designer display

He’s the Chelsea designer with an eye for success, but Tom Davies, whose spectacles are worn by Ed Sheeran, Heston Blumenthal and Angelina Jolie, has been left devastated after a £500,000 raid on his Sloane Square boutique.

The stolen items include all the pieces he designed for Hollywood film Cruella, such as these worn by Dame Emma Thompson.

‘This is my second ever break-in at Sloane Square,’ Davies says of the raid, which took place last week.

‘Somebody threw a large lump of concrete through the window and stole all the frames from Cruella.

‘I’m doing this thing with London Fashion Week — we’re showing the frames we designed for the film — about 120 pairs — and I put the key pieces that were worn by Emma Stone and Dame Emma in the window.

‘I’ve got this absolutely heart-wrenching video of a large concrete block flying through the window, two masked robbers bundling through, scooping up glasses and running off.’

Well-heeled neighbours were alerted by the shop’s alarm. ‘When I woke up, my phone was ringing,’ he says. ‘My staff were devastated — rightly so. The store was just absolutely in chaos. Literally half a million pounds worth of product was whipped off the shelves. It’s quite dramatic.’

Speaking to Susannah Constantine on her podcast My Wardrobe Malfunction, Davies adds: ‘I’m going to reach out to my network of followers and see if I can track down the frames.

‘They’re quite distinctive pieces: they say ‘Tom Davies for Emma Stone’ on the inside and things like that. These are hot property. It’s not like you can just stick them on eBay.

‘So I’m going to try to track the thieves down and see if I can’t get these glasses back.

‘I ought to be upset. Part of me is, but it’s also fascinating watching the video of the guys in my store. I think I’m still in a state of shock.’

Martin hoping for an Ascot hat trick

Royal Ascot’s most colourful purveyor of top hats, Martin Ellis Jones, hopes this week’s meeting will get his trade back on course.

‘The pandemic derailed my business — it’s been horrific,’ he tells me. ‘I’ve been out of work for two years, but this week I’ve opened a new shop in Andaz London Hotel, Liverpool Street. I hope it will save my business.’

He runs Hetherington Hats — a favourite of pop superstar Adele — with titfers starting at £3,500. Adds Ellis Jones: ‘Last year I sold one to the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Bin Salman.’

Given the prince’s controversial reputation, I’m not sure he’s the best advertisement for the business…

Aspinall’s daughter Tansy plays the marriage stakes

Tansy Aspinall — daughter of Damian’s former wife, Louise Sebag-Montefiore — wed Eton-educated fund manager Kartik Kumar, 30, at Old Marylebone Town Hall on Saturday

Queen of the jungle Tansy Aspinall, whose father is casino and wildlife park owner Damian Aspinall, has finally married her prince.

The 31-year-old jewellery designer — daughter of Damian’s former wife, Louise Sebag-Montefiore — wed Eton-educated fund manager Kartik Kumar, 30, at Old Marylebone Town Hall on Saturday.

Keeping the guest count small due to Covid restrictions, they were joined by friends and family including Damian’s ex, actress Donna Air, and Tansy’s sisters — singer Clary, 29, and 17-year-old model Freya. ‘And just like that she’s all grown up and a Mrs!’ Donna says. ‘My heart is bursting.’

Growing up surrounded by wildlife, Tansy would regularly play with gorillas from the age of six months. She says: ‘Kartik loves animals, too.’

Fancy driving Princess Margaret’s Roller? Sotheby’s is putting the 1954 Rolls-Royce Phantom IV built for the Queen’s sister under the hammer this weekend.

It was the company’s most exclusive model, sold only to heads of state, including the Queen, the Shah of Iran and General Franco of Spain, and is expected to fetch between £300,000 and £500,000.

A Sotheby’s spokesman tells me: ‘The car is in a very special collection of Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars.’

Lady V says jabbers need not apply…

Lady Victoria Hervey has made it clear on members-only dating app Raya that her match must be an anti-vaxxer like her

Many dating site users are prepared to meet only those vaccinated against Covid, but superannuated ‘It girl’ Lady Victoria Hervey is the exact opposite.

The Marquess of Bristol’s 44-year-old sister has made it clear on members-only dating app Raya that her match must be an anti-vaxxer like her.

‘Looking for a like-minded person who is not an extremist Leftie and has not agreed to be vaccinated with a bio-weapon gene therapy,’ she declares.

Don’t all rush at once. Lady Victoria’s outlandish views include a belief that the Covid vaccine is a ‘plot by Bill Gates to depopulate the world’.

You would expect visitors to Balmoral, the Queen’s private estate in Scotland, to be on their best behaviour — but some are causing alarm by lighting bonfires and barbecues amid tinderbox conditions.

A spokesman for the retreat in Aberdeenshire thunders: ‘Very disappointed to find lots of lit barbecues and campfires last night during a Balmoral Rangers patrol. Some of which were only a few metres from ‘High Fire Risk’ signs!’

The Queen didn’t visit last summer because of pandemic restrictions but is expected to head there next month.
