Exclusive: Aditya Narayan reveals the meaning of his single ‘Lillah’ | Bollywood Life

Singer-actor Aditya Narayan recently released his new single titled Lillah, which is getting immense love on social media. The song is a visual treat as is shot at the scenic location of Maldives and the mesmerising voice of Aditya makes it even more delightful. Regarding this soulful track he said, “It’s always been my childhood dream because I come from a generation that has grown up watching Channel V and MTV. We used to watch videos not just from America and Europe, but also our own music videos. I remember Indie pop being really popular with interesting artistes & bands like Silk Route with Mohit Chauhan, Strings, Fusion, Alisha Chinai and Lucky Ali. They were doing really good work apart from film music. So, I really enjoyed watching these videos and grew up listening to these songs.”

The singer also explained us the meaning of the title ‘Lillah’ and said it was because of lyricist Manoj Yadav, he came to know about this beautiful word. He narrated the backstory by saying that he called Manoj Yadav and said that as a listener, he is missing poetic lyrics. He told Manoj to send him such lines if he came across them. He said, “So I remember him sending me the lyrics for Lillah, which were the first 8 lines of the track and at end of the chorus he wrote, Lillah itni khoobsurat na dikha karo tum. So, I called him up and asked ‘iska matlab kya hai?’ He said it’s an Urdu word which means for Allah, for Bhagwaan, for God. So, Bhagwaan ke liye itni khoobsurat na dikha karo, that’s what the chorus means. So, it sounded interesting to us and soon my band & I started working on it.”
