Felicity Huffman reports to California prison to begin sentence: Details

Felicity Huffman has officially started her prison sentence.

The “Desperate Housewives” actress reported Tuesday to the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, Calif., according to her representative, and is “prepared to serve the term of imprisonment Judge Talwani ordered as one part of the punishment she imposed for Ms. Huffman’s actions.”

Huffman had asked the judge to allow her to serve in the California prison instead of a facility near Boston, where she was tried and sentenced. The close proximity to her home will allow her family to visit more frequently. (While it is undoubtedly still unpleasant, it was ranked in 2009 as one of Forbes’ top “cushiest” prisons in America.)

Upon her scheduled exit from the facility, Huffman will serve the remainder of the sentence: One year of supervised release with conditions including 250 hours of community service.
