#HappyBirthdayAkshayKumar: 7 Hollywood remakes in which the Khiladi of Bollywood should star in! | Bollywood Life

Born on September 9, 1967, in a Punjabi family in Amritsar, who would have thought that Rajiv Bhatia will one day go on to become Bollywood’s fittest and talented actor Akshay Kumar. After starring in over 100 films, with his career spanning nearly two and a half decades, Akshay Kumar has carved a niche for himself thanks to his daredevil action stunts and brilliant comic timing. As Bollywood’s favourite Khiladi turns 52, we bring you a list of Hollywood remakes which would suit Akshay Kumar’s style and persona.

John Wick

Plot:A seasoned assassin retires from the world of crime to marry the love of his life. But her sudden death leaves him in mourning. When his ex-boss, a dreaded mobster, steals his car and kills his puppy, which was gifted by his wife, the assassin goes back to his old ways and seeks vengeance by turning into a killing machine.

Why Akshay:With plenty of action stunts and oodles of emotional elements in the film, John Wick is tailor-made for Akshay Kumar. I mean who else can beat Akshay when it comes to the combination of action and emotions.

The Wolf Of Wall Street

Plot:A young aspiring broker, who dreams of making a fortune at the Wall Street, opens his own firm and builds an empire by defrauding millions of investors. And while living the life of excess, he and his band of brokers involve in sex, drugs and lies making the most out of their lives. But alas FBI tracks their fraudulent ways and cracks down the empire.

Why Akshay:The king of comic timings, Akshay Kumar, will perfectly fit in the shoes of Leonardo Dicaprio thanks to his quirky charisma and onscreen cheekiness. From pulling off the role of a casanova to taking digs at the society as a con man, Akshay will fit the bill to the T.

The Ugly Truth

Plot:A lovelorn, arrogant TV producer is searching hopelessly for the perfect guy of her dreams but in vain. And then she meets an equally arrogant TV celebrity who happens to be a relationship expert. Love blossoms between the two as the guy tries to prove that his theories on relationship are flawless.

Why Akshay:I know Akshay wont be the right choice for a rom com, but this rom com has been cut out just for our Khiladi. From being funny and quirky, to teasing his lady love about her theories on love, Gerrad Butler’s perfect replacement is none other than Akshay Kumar.

Fury

Plot:A major and his five soldiers go behind the enemy lines on a tank for a deadly mission to strike the heart of a Nazi camp. They are hopelessly outnumbered and the major has a bunch of inexperienced soldiers at his service. How does this team of fighters manages to complete their mission forms the rest of the story.

Why Akshay:After watching Baby, one could surely say that Akshay makes for a great army man onscreen. But Fury is not like Baby, as it deals with problems of the major and his bunch of soldiers who are battling the odds from staying in a tank. It does not involve hand to hand combat and will give an opportunity to Akshay to show off his acting skills.

Gone Girl

Plot:A writer and his eccentric wife live in a remote town. While everyone believes they are happily married, all is not right between the two. Problem starts when wife goes missing one day and police and media starts to suspect the husband. Will the writer manage to find his wife and prove his innocence.

Why Akshay:Back in the day, Akshay Kumar had proved that he can carry a psycho thriller on his shoulders with Sangharsh. Ben Affleck’s Gone Girl will give a chance to Akshay to redeem himself in the genre of psychological thrillers. Also, the film has enough scope of drama in which Akshay excels.

The Descendants

Plot:A lawyer has to deal with his two daughters when his wife goes into coma after a surfing accident. Soon he finds out that his wife was cheating on him and was in love with some real estate guy. While dealing with the fact she won’t survive, the lawyer and his daughters track down his wife’s lover, not to confront him but to give him a last chance to say goodbye.

Why Akshay: A little slice of life drama flick is what Akshay needs in his career writer. This beautiful film is perfect match for Akshay as he is really attached to his family and kids in real life, and will bring out the apt emotions of man dealing with grief and jealousy.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

Plot:The popular adventurer Mr Indiana Jones is in a pursuit of a precious gem as he tries to retrieve several kidnapped young boys from the baddies.

Why Akshay:If there is someone who could actually pull off an Indiana Jones in Bollywood, it is Akshay Kumar. With the kind of deady dare devil stunts he does, do I even need to say why Akshay Kumar should do this film?
