Katie has recently opened up on the difficulties she has felt when it comes to love.

Talking to The Sun, she said: “No matter what you look like whether you have burns or scars or whether you don’t have a mark on you, I think love is a challenge for everybody.

“Some may find it easy to meet a partner but still it’s hard to maintain a partner.”

Katie went on to talk about how she and Richard have chosen to hold off on having more children at the moment.

She said: “My husband is very family orientated, so we have that in common, for me I got to a stage.

“I had everything I need and what only could fulfil me would be becoming a mum and that’s the only way I can describe it – it was such an unknown fulfilment.

“I would say I would have another baby, and he would say he would not have another baby.”

In 2016, during an interview with the Mirror, Katie spoke of how she felt a sense of security after getting married.

She said: “I’m not a mushy person. I just thought, ‘Well, we already live together, so it’s just a piece of paper.’ But it’s not.

“But now it just feels like a proper family, as one, complete and together. It’s a nice feeling of security.

“The best thing about being married is thinking, ‘I’ve met the person I love, and we’re going to be together forever’.”

Katie, who keeps her marriage out of the spotlight, previously spoke of how she had to tell her family to keep her wedding off social media.

During an interview with Sunday People in 2016, she said: “I’m the only person in my family who works in the TV industry, and it was hard to explain to relatives, ‘Please don’t write about it on Facebook.’

“It was also hard on some of the people who provided services for the wedding as, understandably, they wanted to put it on their websites.”
