Katie Price has reportedly been forced to cancel her appearance at a festival after her horse was taken seriously ill.

The 43 year old was due to make her first public appearance after she was allegedly assaulted at the Mighty Hoopla festival in London.

But, she is now said to not be appearing after learning her horse Wallis, who is 18, has been taken for medical treatment.

A source said: "Katie was keen to get back out there and see her fans but her horse has been taken away for medical treatment.

"She's had Wallis for 12 years and he is very well-loved in the family. He has been very unwell in recent weeks.

"Katie feels she has to be by his side as she fears he's dying. She's absolutely devastated."

OK! has contacted Katie's representatives for comment.

Katie Price was said to be using the festival as an opportunity to "relaunch" her career in pop.

The reality TV star was also confirmed to be attending the South London event by event organisers.

Mighty Hoopla released a quote from the star saying: "I'll be on stage being me, The Price."
