Lady Gaga Reportedly Addressed Her Breakup with Ex-Fiancé Christian Carino During a Concert

On Sunday night, Lady Gaga opened up to the audience at her Las Vegas concert about her ex-fiancé Christian Carino. Before she sang an emotional rendition of “Someone to Watch Over Me” by George Gershwin, the singer-actress brought up her former partner.

“Last time I sang this song, I had a ring on my finger, so it’ll be different this time,” Lady Gaga reportedly said, according to Us Weekly.

A fan account (@AMENARTPOP) uploaded a video to Twitter that sees the A Star is Born actress channeling Old Hollywood glamour in an embellished gold dress with a killer thigh-high side split and long sleeves. She pulled her blonde hair into an ornate updo and wore a bold red lip and winged eyeliner.

Understandably, Lady Gaga looked overwhelmed with emotions while singing the jazz classic with lyrics such as “Won’t you tell him please to put on some speed / Follow my lead, oh, how I need / Someone to watch over me.”

In February, Lady Gaga’s representatives confirmed to People that she and Carino did break up. An inside source gave some insight into the ending of their relationship, noting that “there’s no long dramatic story.” However, in March, two insiders revealed to Us Weekly intimate details about the demise of the pair’s relationship.

The first source explained that Carino “didn’t treat Gaga very well toward the end of their [two-year] relationship,” while a second insider revealed that Lady Gaga was the one who ended the relationship because Carino was allegedly “jealous.”

“He was trying to find her all the time and texted her a lot,” the second source divulged. “Her friends didn’t like him either.”
